VISIT TO VANAPRATHA ASHRAM FOR BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF SENIOR RESIDENTS.
Students of classes IX and X along with students of class V visited the Vanaprastha Ashram, Sector-17, Rohini, Delhi-110085 on 10th May 2016 to celebrate the birthdays of few senior residents. They showcased a Nukkad Natak, bhajans, songs and danced along with the residents to the rocking music. Some of the residents also got stimulated to showcase their talents which our children enjoyed. The management of Elders Home Society thanked the school management for sponsoring the breakfast for all the residents. In response, Principal, Ms. Promil Bali also thanked the management of Elders Home Society for giving us an opportunity to serve the people of Vanaprastha Ashram. She wished to continue these efforts in a long way to serve the society.
COMING TOGETHER DURING DISASTER IN MAHARASHTRA.
To do our bit in the hour of crisis in the drought hit areas of Maharashtra, we partnered with Goonj, an award winning NGO to provide basic relief material to these communities. We organised a collection drive from 3rd May 2016 to 15th May 2016. Children and staff contributed items like dry ration, school material, clothes, umbrellas, footwear, utensils etc whole heartedly. We are thankful to all the staff, children and their parents for their active participation in this drive for a worthwhile cause.
SENSITIZING THE SOCIETY ON HARMFUL EFFECTS OF TOBACCO ON “WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY”.
In lieu of “World No Tobacco Day”, the school eco-club team highlighted and raised awareness amongst the class IV employees about the negative impacts of Tobacco use. To spread this message in and around the surroundings of the school, they highlighted the Indian Tobacco Control Act which prohibits the sale of Tobacco products in an area within 100 yards of educational institution. Rickshawalas, small vendors, labourers in the vicinity of the school were informed about the fatal efforts of Tobacco and how they could be helped to fight out the habit of Tobacco use.
